Racks of the newly built Swiss Supercomputing Center in Lugano will feature E3METER IPS-1203 intelligent Power Strips.

Riedo Networks has received the order to equip the Racks for the High-Performance Supercomputing Center in Lugano, Switzerland which will go online in Q1, 2012.

High-performance computing centres use a great deal of electricity. In order to run its new computer centre in Lugano-Cornaredo as energy-efficiently and cost-effectively as possible, CSCS is using the natural resource of Lake Lugano to cool its supercomputers and the new building.

With a designed capacity of 14 MW (and reserves to go up to 21 MW), the new HPC datacenter in Lugano is definitely amongst the biggest in Switzerland.

Two 3-phase Intelligent Power Strips (E3METER IPS-1203) in each rack will enable CSCS to monitor and log power consumption of the IT infrastructure as well as constantly analyze line voltage, current, power-factor, frequency.
All metering and power quality data will centrally be collected by two E3METER Data Concentrators.
Our products and solutions will contribute to monitor the efficiency (PUE) of the new datacenter in real-time.
