Power distribution and cabling within 19" racks in datacenters became quite challenging as the server density of server per m2 constantly increased over the last years. It is not very uncommon today that a standard rack is packed with 30, 40 or more servers, each requiring two power cords for redundant supply.
In some cases the available space for cabling within a rack is reduced down to a few centimeters (2 inch) where floor surface is expensive.
Our new 3-phase intelligent power strips (IPS) are the world smallest PDU with built in metering and communication features. The outline dimensions are less than 45 x 45 mm (less than 2" x 2"), the length varies with the amount of plugs.
Currently two models are available:
Please consult our E3METER IPS-1203 outline drawing for more information.
As always with our E3Meter Products, no extra cabling is required to collect, monitor and analyze metered values as every IPS has a built in narrowband PLC modem offering extremely reliable communication over 400/230V power lines.
